I had the opportunity to work with Anthony Sokolowski and his team of professionals. They were all kind, knowledgeable, organized and responsive to my needs in a very timely fashion. They made a very difficult time comfortable and manageable. I was surprised at how quickly everything was able to be completed to my satisfaction. Great job! I would highly recommend you and your team to whoever needs your services. Great professionalism.

We hired Colwell with no prior experience that was our first mistake because this law firm took advantage of our ignorance. Our "free consultation" was never with a lawyer but rather with an administrative employee with a fancy title. She is there to give false confidence and to sucker you into signing a contract before ever getting the opportunity to speak to a lawyer. Our case needed expertise and they gave us their most inexperienced lawyer who charged us close to $400/hour.

Too many red flags. Consultation is not with an attorney. You can't speak with one until you pay the $6000 retainer and sign the Letter of Engagement. After 6 weeks of working with my attorney the stopped returning my phone calls and communicating with me. I started to call the office to leave messages once a week in hopes I'd get updates on my case. Had to find some paperwork myself. Started reviewing the invoices and noticed an hour had been spent reviewing the paperwork I completed but, in that time, no attempt to contact me was made. I'm in the dark at where we are at now with this case. Unfortunately, a lot of money has been spent with very little work done as time has passed.

My initial consultation was with a sales person, not even a lawyer...first mistske, second mistake was the attorney I was working with Anthony Sokolowski knew I received a settlement and sucked as much money as they could for billable hours especially on what they billed as "reviewing my case for court preparation "... WHAT A JOKE ! Day of court he was unprepared and failed to present evidence to substantiate my claims, therefore costing me more money 💰 I WOULD "NOT" RECOMMEND THIS FIRM.... I was naive to lawyer deception but learned an expensive lesson, I have the invoices to back my claims.

X's friends told her that she should charge me with 240.26 harassment cause I sent her many texts in 24 hour period. Texts were to have a discussion she previously said she wanted, to have with me regarding others' opinions she also asked me to get before this discussion. But she (rudely) refused to acknowledge my texts and the fact that she had asked for this discussion. No "threat" to her! I didn't think I was harassing her, only asking her to please respond as she said she would; so we could discuss as she said she wanted us to do! Penal Code 240.26 require BOTH intent to harass and NO OTHER legitimate purpose other than to harass/annoy. Colwell lawyer said I was guilty based on # of messages in the 24 hour period regardless of my intent (which is incorrect under 250.26 Penal Code and court cases I subsequently looked up). Can I trust such a lawyer even during negotiations??? Doubtful!! Definitely can't trust Colwell lawyer in a trial!

I'm in hopes this review will save others in need of help from making the mistake my wife and I did. DO NOT hire this firm PERIOD!!! The lawyers have 30+ cases besides yours they are working on. Our case was black and white against a deadbeat and his lying lawyer. Our first attorney with Colwell was completely useless so we changed thinking that would fix the mess he made. That was a mistake. More false promises and by the time this firm had completely botched our case we were just shy of $40,000 into it. For my wife to receive a phone call from our attorney saying "You need to agree to this" then have the judge get on the call while the opposing lawyer reads off her list of demands that made my wife's heart stop. You will be in that same position if you trust this firm. They drag the process out, do nothing on the offense, play total defense while you lose miserably and go broke. Top it off emailing Mr Colwell about your disgust and he ignores you. Biggest rip off I've ever seen!!!!!!

If it isn't bad enough emotionally going through a divorce with a high conflict person that thinks they deserve everything you have, add in a attorney that plays into the system, takes your money, asks you to send documentation so they can keep up with the case and then ask you ( while costing you time and money ) what's going on and why your so upset. To add fuel to the fire by the end of the case they switched me around to three different attorneys and NOT ONE OF THEM FOUGHT FOR ME. NOT ONLY DID MY EX tear apart my family so did COLWELL. The first six months they play into the game of making you believe they care but by the end of it you'll see they were working against you the whole time. THEY WROTE ME off EVEN THOUGH my ex didn't do what she was supposed to do with in the supreme court document in a certain amount of time and I lost my house because of it. Luckily I hired a new attorney and to this day I have my ex in contempt of court

My experience with this law firm was horrible. It started out as a kind and thoughtful consultation. After paying the retainer, the communication was terrible. We didn’t know what was going on. Our questions by email got one sentence responses. We were made to wait an entire day and then were dismissed by a receptionist without the attorney even bothering to see us. The court rejected our petition, and we were told it was poorly written. Two separate family court justices admonished us for being “so irresponsible as to take this attorney’s advice.” The advice caused a terrible loss of our relationship as a family. Even worse, once we left this firm and hired another, we received much better help at less than half the cost. It was terrible legal help at an extremely high price.

Absolutely abysmal experience with these people. To start they will promise you everything during your consultation and first meeting with your assigned attorney. They will assign you an attorney from the furthest office possible. Once it comes time for them to actually work on the case, they will display minimum effort, after having meetings they will miswrite your paperwork then charge you to fix their own mistakes. They will very poorly explain any and all processes to you, and not fight for your cause. After telling you that they can get your child what they deserve during your first few meetings, they will then say it’s too tall of a task despite earlier promises. Once you start receiving your billing it will only get worse. You will be charged for them to fix their mistakes and you will be charged drive time. Even after they admit that they overcharged, they will not refund the money. Absolutely zero accountability from attorneys and management in this firm. Huge lack of integrit
