Hired Attorney

Domestic violence left me, a single, stay at home mother, penniless, devastated, vulnerable, homeless and hopeless in many ways. I had no idea how I was going to be able to afford a lawyer, and I was emotionally exhausted from anxiously worrying about everything as well as feeling terrified for my daughter and I. I was feeling hopelessly lost because I was grieving the loss of my dreams as a family, the loss of the husband I loved, and the absolute shock that my marriage was ending. Live safe worked with me and provided me a lawyer for my restraining order against my husband however they informed me that it would be difficult to find a volunteer lawyer for my divorce case in Georgia as it is not typical or considered urgent. Mr. Starosto helped me without a moments hesitation and he was beyond generous with his patience and his support. I have the upmost respect and gratitude for this wonderful man who helped me when no one else could.

The Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Ratings process is the gold standard due to its objectivity and comprehensiveness. Lawyers solicited for peer reviews include both those selected by the attorney being reviewed and lawyers independently selected by Martindale-Hubbell. All reviewers are verified as attorneys through Martindale-Hubbell’s extensive attorney database. Only attorneys practicing at least three years and receiving a sufficient number of reviews from non-affiliated attorneys are eligible to receive a Rating.

What are the different Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Ratings?*

• AV Preeminent®: The highest peer rating standard. This rating signifies that a large number of the lawyer’s peers rank him or her at the highest level of professional excellence for their legal knowledge, communication skills and ethical standards.

• Distinguished: An excellent rating for a lawyer with some experience. This rating indicates the attorney is widely respected by their peers for high professional achievement and ethical standards.
