I retained Chris Clifton and his partner Michael A. Grace in June of 2017 to defend me against a false Indictment of Bank Fraud in the Middle District of North Carolina. Prior to hiring Mr. Clifton, I had entered a guilty plea at the advice of my previous attorney. However, at the change of plea hearing, we had evidence that defeated the governments probable cause, and I was not adjudicated guilty of any charges. When Chris took over he literally assisted the government and pre trail services in hiding my exculpatory evidence from the court and as a result, I was adjudicated guilty of charges neither brought before nor indicted by a grand jury in violation of the Fifth Amendments Grand Jury Clause. I spent nearly 5 years in prison because of Mr. Cliftons actions as my attorney. The government has now admitted on 3 seperate occasions that I am innocent of the Indictment. I do not recommend Mr. Clifton or his partner Michael A. Grace.
Worse lawyer ever! No compassion for a WHITE man from New England! Went to court from NH and Colorado and Clifton asked a Mexican family if they were my sons parents. Unbelievable. Hired him to retrieve my son’s possessions. Never even tried to retrieve them. My son lost at least 20 thousands dollars of possessions! Man should be sued himself. Useless lawyer. Please save your money. He should be returning ALL our money for a poor performance!! I can leave my name and phone number is you need more of a reason Not to hire him!!!
Bad lawyer in every way... would NOT recommend Clifton... please don’t let him take your money... does not have any clue about treating people with compassion.
