About Rosemarie Ferrante

Rosemarie Ferrante is a family attorney focusing on non-adversarial divorce through mediation and collaborative divorce. She has been practicing exclusively family law for over 25 years. Rosemarie’s goal is to provide families the resources and tools needed to smoothly transition through the divorce process. Her practice helps couples who wish to separate or divorce in reaching agreements that foster goodwill and trust, while meeting each spouse’s individual goals and needs, while most importantly, supporting ongoing positive relationships with their children, and with each other as co-parents.

Rosemarie is President of the Connecticut Council for Non-Adversarial Divorce (CCND) the statewide non-profit professional organization of Connecticut mediators and collaborative divorce practitioners whose mission is to change the way people divorce or separate in Connecticut by reducing conflict and improving the lives of family members – especially children.

Rosemarie founded Divorce Resource CT and, in partnership with Hollis Hardiman, CDFA offers education, support and wellness workshops for individuals contemplating divorce. The workshops are offered throughout Fairfield County, CT and online.

Rosemarie is an active member of the Academy of Professional Family Mediators (APFM), the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals (IACP), the American Bar Association (Family Law & Dispute Resolution section, Mediation & Collaborative Law committees), the Connecticut Bar Association (Family Law Section, ADR Section), the Danbury Bar Association and the Fairfield County Bar Association.

She is a founding member of the National Association of Divorce Professionals (NADP), the first national organization that unites professionals who serve clients going through all stages of the divorce process. She is also a member of CDPFC, Collaborative Divorce Professionals of Fairfield County.

Rosemarie earned her bachelor’s degree from Cornell University in 1993 and her law degree from Brooklyn Law School in 1996, where she was Primary Notes & Comments Editor of the Brooklyn Law Review. She was admitted to the Connecticut Bar in 1996 and the New York Bar in 1997.

She is a frequent guest on podcasts, workshops and professional presentations speaking about divorce mediation and the benefits of non-adversarial divorce.

Hired Attorney

Rosemarie, at times, came across very condescending. I also felt she was not always fair and equitable. She allowed my ex to "bully" me without stopping him. She really needs to understand that not everyone has a law or finance background. I almost stopped the mediation process midway. Would NOT recommend.

Response from
Divorce, even mediated divorce, is not easy and I always strongly encourage my clients to have the support they need (CDFA, review counsel) so that they can make informed, educated decisions. Some chose to proceed without that support, unfortunately.
