Attorney Orland has practiced law for more than thirty years. She is AV Preeminent TM rated by Martindale-Hubbell, the highest possible rating in both legal ability and ethical standards, earned through a strenuous peer and judicial review procedure. She has been designated as a Top Lawyer in Family Law and Matrimonial Law in Westport, Greenwich, New Canaan/Darien and Fairfield Magazines. Additionally, Carole has been named among the Top 10 Attorneys in Family Law in Connecticut by the National Academy of Family Law Attorneys for 2014, 2015 and 2016. And, has been selected to the Connecticut Super Lawyers® List in the area of Family Law in 2013-2016.
A Worcester, Massachusetts native, Attorney Orland began her career there as an Assistant District Attorney, prosecuting several high profile felony cases. She subsequently joined the offices of Wolfson Keenan Cotton and Meagher, where she maintained a general practice, concentrating in divorce, matrimonial, family and criminal matters. She successfully handled the first surrogacy case to be decided by the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court, ultimately winning custody for the child's father.
Upon relocating to Westport, Connecticut, Attorney Orland worked at Fitzmaurice & Siegel prior to co-founding Broder & Orland LLC, one of the largest family and matrimonial law firms in Connecticut. She is a member of the Connecticut, Massachusetts, New York and District of Columbia bars, the Family Law Section of the Fairfield County Associations, and has served on the Executive Committee of the Connecticut Bar Association Family Law Section. Attorney Orland also serves as a Special Master in the Family Division of the Stamford and Bridgeport Superior Courts.
Attorney Orland has presented at numerous programs on various topics related to family and matrimonial law. She was recently selected as a panelist on the Bench-Bar Symposium on Professionalism at the Stamford Superior Court sponsored by the Fairfield and Connecticut Bar Associations and the State of Connecticut Judicial Branch.
She is active in the Westport community and volunteers her time to Near & Far Aid and the Westport Public Library. Additionally, she is a patron of the Beachwood Arts Organization
