About Jonathan W. McConnell

Jon McConnell was inspired to pursue law because of an inherent need to help others. His father is a pastor, and Jon knew at an early age that he would either follow in his father's footsteps or become a defense attorney. However, Jon feels the most reward when he protects someone who is at the lowest point of their lives. They don't have a friend in the world and have nowhere else to turn. Helping others brings out the best in Jon. In order to do the most good, Jon fulfilled his calling by becoming an attorney. Jon doesn't pass judgment on people. His job is to protect clients when it seems that everyone else is against them.

Jon has a successful and proven track record as a defense attorney. He has taught criminal justice at WSU, served as an Assistant District Attorney under Nola Foulston, and successfully prosecuted the first passenger DUI case in the State of Kansas. Jon likes challenging situations, and uses aggressive and bold tactics to defend the rights of his clients. While he maintains some traditional norms of the legal field, Jon employs a fresh and modern approach to an ancient craft. I found McConnell Law Firm and my assumption was that I would be able to find a high quality criminal defense lawyer at the firm, but I couldn’t have anticipated hiring attorneys as excellent as Jonathan McConnell and Tanner Broyles. Without getting into detail about my personal legal situation, I can just say that the outcome of my case was not only better than I hoped for, but I am very confident that that outcome was the result of having retained McConnell Law Firm. Upon first meeting with them, I was struck by their calm and understated confidence. Their knowledge of the law surrounding my case was vast, but nothing was taken for granted. Any aspect which I was not familiar with was thoroughly explained, and throughout the process I consistently felt that they were always prepared and motivated. Having Jonathan and Tanner as my attorneys, I never doubted that I had the best defense that I could hope to have. Ultimately, I couldn’t give higher praise or a better recommendation.

Before Jonathan, I was originally assigned a different attorney. Once he was assigned to it though, he was very kind and understanding about my situation. He reassured any and all of my concerns. Mr. McConnell explained my options and the outcomes very thoroughly and in a way that was easy to understand. I really appreciated his support in not only with my case but also with my worries. I definitely would recommend him to someone in need of a great lawyer. Aside from Jonathan, his office staff were amazing and extremely kind and easy to talk to. They were understanding of my financial situation and went and above and beyond to work something out with me. Thank you for everything. Bottom line : if you have the resources to hire Jon McConnell to defend your freedom, you will have one of the most favorable outcomes possible. I am positive of this. Its not an easy task hiring an attorney. As clients, we put our lives and freedom in their hands. The vast majority of the time, we do this not really knowing what to expect. My case was quite serious. I was facing several felony charges. Anxious and concerned about my future, I hired Mr McConnell. I am glad I did so. Retrospectively, it’s easy to see why Jon is widely considered one of the top defense attorneys in the state of Kansas. He has the knowledge and commands the respect to accomplish what few can in the criminal defense world. Bottom line x2: if you can hire Mr. McConnell, you are going to be in the most advantageous spot possible.

To protect one’s good name and reputation, McConnell was a perfect partner. Highly recommended, and his reputation in the legal community was clearly an asset in obtaining the positive result that was rendered.
