One Year after the real estate closing, when we tried to collect the "promissory note" in the amount of the $7,000 agreed to in the original contract between us and the buyer, we found out that the promissory note contained language in the buyer's favor to not pay us. We did not see the promissory note prior to closing, nor does the promissory note have our signature. We had to hire another attorney to collect. Do your research with this attorney before you hire them and Beware!
