Hired Attorney William Ashwell

I was referred to Will from a friend as being one of the best in Fauquier County. With what I was facing I needed the best and he was by far the best. Will and his office were always there. He guided me in the right path throughout my whole cases. He would give me his advice but ultimately it was my decision on how to proceed. He was there for me and my family and fought the fight with us to the end. I would refer Will to anyone that I know of who needs a lawyer. Will Ashwell fights the fight with you and I personally ally will always be grateful to Will.

I hired Will to represent me in a custody battle and a partition suit. After my check cleared, communication was poor. Paralegals either quit or were terminated. I got out of office replies they were no longer with the company. There were several discrepancies in the support order paperwork I had personally correct. The case kept getting continued. At one point I arrived to court for my scheduled appearance. I ran into Will in the hallway who informed me the case was continued to a later date and he would call me later that day. The call never arrived. I sent several emails over the course of the next week and never received a response. I hand delivered a letter expressing my disappointment which prompted a call. Unfortunately he wasn’t able to meet in person to clear the air. He submitted an agreed order without my knowledge or consent. I was stuck paying a portion of opposing counsel’s legal fees. Worse yet, the paperwork for the partition suit never arrived. Tread carefully!

This female attorney did not take the time to hear out everything I would like to have said. She basically said if we went in front of a judge that he would split everything 5050 regardless of who paid what down on the house. She did not give me any hope or direction of what I might be able to get in lieu of, alimony or support of any kind. I haven’t been married to a man for 25 years. She was honestly a waste of time. I’ve never been to an attorney with that unsupportive or uneducated or how to go forward with a divorce where not everything would be lost

The attorney assigned was terrible! She did absolutely nothing for her client. She never met or spoke with the client prior to the court date! Even though the client requested a meeting. We requested a copy of the discovery and was told they would send it when they received it. It was never received. Less than 24 hours prior to court they sent the client an email with the district attorney’s offer. Three months and the assigned attorney still had not met or spoken with the client! In the end it seems the district attorney did the work and assigned attorney got the retainer fee! Very disappointed.

Ashwell & Ashwell turned my divorce into a nightmare. My attorney never scheduled a meeting to prepare, ignored my emails asking when we could review my case, and walked into court unshaven, messy-haired, and wearing a wrinkled two-day-old suit. He knew so little that I had to feed him facts at the table in real time. I didn't win because of him -- I won in spite of him, because my case was strong enough to survive without representation. The billing was worse. I was double billed on multiple invoices, multiple times. When I asked for answers, I got silence. When I finally fired them after nine months of unfinished work, they "found" extra charges, doubled my invoices, and erased the refund I was owed. To this day, they still haven't returned my full client file, holding it hostage like a ransom note. Bottom line: If you want courtroom humiliation, do-it-yourself lawyering, and billing scams to top it off, Ashwell & Ashwell is the firm for you.
