Hired Attorney David Johnson

I feel that my case could have been won on the first appearance since the witness was not there and the officer was not present either. He asked for a continuance and at the next appearance, the officer asked for a continuance so he could subpoena the witness. During the third appearance, we had no choice but to plead guilty.

I just feel that my attorney could have won my case if he had pleaded Not Guilty instead of asking for a continuance, since the witness was not present and the officer was not there either.

I WOULD GIVE ZERO STARS!  This attorney left me DEAD IN THE WATER when he did not show up for a meeting that was scheduled and paid for weeks in advance.  I called his office for my scheduled appointment, and his secretary told me that he was in the office with another client, and he would call me back. An hour goes by, I call back to get an idea of when I would hear from him and was told this time that he was out of the office for the day, and that he didn't want to proceed with my meeting or case because his case load was too full.   Backstory - we had previously spoken to this attorney about our case, so he was completely aware of our needs and requested more docs once we received them, we received them, which prompted this second scheduled meeting.   I'm just saying if you knew your case load was too full to handle my case, you should have denied it when the 2nd meeting was initially scheduled and not had us pay in advance for it.   SHAMEFUL!

I am giving them a star because zero stars wasn't an option. I went to this firm for an uncontested divorce. The first agreement draft did not even include my rental property. The second draft had the incorrect child support. Then the attorney, David Johnson, didn't know which house(s) my wife was a borrower/owner on. Mind you, all of this information was given to them on paper AND verbally in my initial consult. After sending my wife the paperwork, she had her own attorney review it and requested for one sentence to be added to the agreement. Literally....one sentence. Mr. Johnson emailed me and said that because of that requested change it would now be considered contested and I needed to pay a retainer fee of $2250. To add ONE sentence!!! I called to discuss the issue and was put to his paralegal who said that one of them would return my call that day, which they did not do. I followed up the next day and got the same story, and the same no-call. The third day I actually went up to the office since they clearly weren't interested in returning my phone call. I was told that he was with a client, but I could hear him talking in his office and he clearly was not with a client. Rather than taking 2-3 minutes to speak with me and figure out what needed to be done, he first sent his receptionist back and forth as a messenger. When I told her that I was extremely frustrated with his refusal to speak with me and that I would rather just end the business relationship and go somewhere else, she told me that she didn't know how to do that and went to get another lady. That lady then proceeded to go back and forth several times to and from Mr. Johnson's office delivering messages about how adding that one sentence warranted a contested divorce and trying to explain away their errors. I finally insisted that I was not interested in arguing over semantics and just wanted to go to another attorney so she brought out a release form and I went on my way. Never once did Mr. Johnson speak directly to me, which I found to be incredibly childish and disrespectful. Never once did anyone offer to make things right. Instead, they acted as if they couldn't care less that they had an upset client in their lobby, had messed up my agreement on several occasions, and were losing my business. I was not disrespectful, loud or demeaning while in the office either. I simply wanted an explanation and to figure out a mutual solution to finish the agreement. Instead, I left with an incredibly bad taste in my mouth and would NEVER recommend this firm to anyone unless you are ok with having an amateur attorney that doesn't value your business and requires you to check up on and correct his potential life-altering mistakes. Oh and don't forget that he probably won't talk to you either.
