About David William Kiatta

My Experience as a Houston District Attorney

Nearly 30 years ago, David began his career as a prosecutor for the Harris County District Attorney’s Office in Houston. He remained there for seven years before moving on to his private practice as a criminal defense lawyer located in Sugar Land, Fort Bend County. David is board-certified in Criminal Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. His criminal defense practice now represents clients in United State Federal matters, along with Texas state criminal matters for individuals and corporations. Due to his success in getting cases dismissed, a long with years of trial experience, David Kiatta handles extreme, serious, and complex criminal cases in Fort Bend County and throughout the Houston area, including Wharton County.

Why Am I A Criminal Defense Attorney?

When I was working as a prosecutor in Harris County I began to feel the responsibility of representing individuals who are more often than not the “little guy.” I want to fight for the individuals who succumb to circumstances out of their control, who have their freedom and well being at stake, or whose life has been catastrophically altered. For these reasons, I decided to stop being a prosecutor, so that I may work closely with individuals, in order to assist those that are in unfortunate situations in the greater Houston area, as their criminal defense attorney.

What Makes Me A Different Kind Of Defense Attorney?

I have a strong devotion to my family, which I carry over to my work. I am dedicated to helping those who have been charged with any kind of crime. I also have a great amount of criminal courtroom trial experience not only as a defense attorney, but also as a prosecutor. This gives me an advantage since I have worked on both sides of criminal defense proceedings. Using my previous knowledge as a prosecutor, I ready my legal cases with the insight of how the state is likely to operate, respond, and evaluate a legal case. I am a member of the Fort Bend County Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, the Harris County Criminal Lawyers Association, a member of the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, a member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, former member of the Houston Bar Association and a former member of the National College for DUI Defense, Inc. My association and membership with these groups provides me with various opportunies, such as legal advice, and seminars to help better service my client’s needs.

What This Means For My Clients?

I am criminal defense attorney in Sugar Land that cares about my clients and prepares for war in every criminal defense case, with the knowledge that the Lord is in charge of your future not a prosecutor or persecutor. I am devoted to my clients and I will provide the highest quality of representation as your lawyer to fight for you and to help you get the best possible outcome in your criminal case.
