About Paul Choquette

I am intimately familiar with the immigration process from both the client and attorney perspective. I was born and raised in Montreal, Canada and attended college and law school in the United States pursuant to a student visa. As a young immigration attorney, I married an American citizen processing my own applications for conditional and permanent residence. Subsequently, I became a naturalized United States citizen. Since 1992, I have assisted thousands of individuals and companies successfully navigate a complex and rather daunting immigration system. Never forgetting my experience as an immigrant, my primary focus is providing each client with a clear understanding of the immigration steps that lie ahead as well as a realistic assessment of the results that can be achieved. Each client expects and is entitled to an honest evaluation.

Working with Paul definitely makes the immigration process simple and smooth if you're unfamiliar with it. Paul was friendly, responsive, organized, professional, and knows how to handle this well. He follows up quickly and provides instructions clearly.

Thankful to have Paul as our immigration attorney for adjustment of status! The best part was having the peace of mind that all the paperwork was filed perfectly. Paul was also very quick to respond to email questions - most of the time, within a few hours, which was super helpful. If there is one aspect that could improve is providing ability to have phone call to discuss an issue instead of just email communication (could be limited to 1-2x/month to avoid too many calls from anxious clients). While there are benefits to email, such as clarity and record, sometimes a phone call can help ease some anxiety regarding the process and allow for exploring alternatives. Overall, great experience and my case was also processed many months earlier than expected without an interview!

Paul was very professional and informative throughout our 2 year journey with the spousal visa process. He was very quick with his response every time we had any questions. The email turnaround time was always within couple of hours, even if it was weekend. During the initial application, I had uploaded the wrong form of birth certificate, but Paul quickly helped us correctly upload the required one. I was very stressed, but Paul was convinced us that the second time we did it, it was OK. He is one of the most efficient professional I’ve worked with.

It was great working with Paul. While the process of immigration is long drawn and very stressful at times, it was good to have Paul by our side to understand the process and ask questions and talk to before the interview and at each stage. There are certain steps in the process when Paul is not specialized such as local Police certificates and local level documents (which are specific) to each county, but he is well aware of the overall process and expectations. Paul is a good choice to get your family reunited in the US.
