Retained firm for RE closing & they failed to notice the other party to the transaction of a key condition that I informed them about well in advance of the closing date. Because of this omission, the other party threatened to sue me, & they did. This firm abandoned me when the threat was made & was only interested in closing the deal so everyone (including his friend /realtor) could get paid, while being indifferent to my position. I had to hire another attorney for litigation & asked this attorney for firms. I hired one of them & tried to protect myself against over billing by including a written requirement to notify me BEFORE doing work beyond the retainer. The 2nd attorney ignored this & & confirmed funds remained in the retainer, but billed me several thousand above the retainer at the end. I discovered several $1,000s missing from my closing funds. I challenged the attorney’s bill & we had an arbitration. Hrdlicka testified against me & in support of Attorney #2.
