Jay Goodman was formally reprimanded by the New Mexico state bar association for illegal billing practices, seriously bad!. They really shouldn't be using so many contract attorneys, quality really suffers. They made all sorts of mistakes, big and small.

Something just didn't feel right during my time working with Jay Goodman. The way billing, representation, and communication were handled raised a lot of red flags, so I did some digging. That's when I found out he was publicly reprimanded by the disciplinary board in Ohio. Finding this confirmed everything I felt. The reprimand was related to client financial harm, which honestly makes a lot of sense given my experience. He even ignored a court order to respond to those accusations--which mirrors what happened with me, as he ignored my questions and concerns about billing, how my case was being handled, and avoided speaking with me directly. In fact, he cut off all communication after the initial consultation, leaving me feeling completely unsupported and misled. If you're thinking about hiring him, I'd strongly suggest rethinking it.
Jay Goodman is a crook and a fraudster. I warn you to beware of the wolf dressed in sheep’s clothing. The firm’s name should be Jay Crookman and the Charlatans. Just know that Jay Goodman was publicly reprimanded by the Disciplinary Board in the Supreme Court of Ohio and was ordered to pay a client back for their losses because of his dishonest and abusive conduct. Goodman does a great job gaining your trust by portraying himself as a “compassionate” and “empathetic” person who will fight for you. But believe me, Goodman and his firm don’t care about you, your well-being, or the outcome of your case; what they do care about is your wallet.
I contacted Jay Goodman to do an estate plan, including a trust, for my aging mom, when I had her financial power of attorney. He assigned me Steven Bone as the primary attorney to do the estate plan. The documents contained many mistakes, including spelling my sister's name wrong, spelling a charity's name wrong, and, most importantly, getting the arithmetic wrong, distributing the estate so that the total percentage was not 100%. Bone assigned Decades Group who charged up to $4800 every 2 wks.
