Having almost 30 years of employment & civil rights law experience, Lisa is recognized as a tenacious advocate for employee rights. She has been voted a Super Lawyer by her peers every year since 2007, first in the Intermountain States and now in Northern California. In 2011, the Utah State Bar recognized her as Utah’s Labor & Employment Lawyer of the Year. In 2018, Lisa was selected by the National Law Journal as one of only two finalists for its award, Elite Trial Lawyer of 2018, in the category of gender discrimination. Lisa earned her Juris Doctorate from the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law. While there, she won the American Jurisprudence Award in Constitutional Law, and was honored as a William H. Leary Scholar for placing in the top 20% of her class. Lisa was Articles Editor for The Journal of Contemporary Law, and a Teacher’s Assistant in Legal Writing. She earned a BA in English at Amherst College, where she was Captain of the Varsity Women’s Lacrosse team. Post-grad, Lisa continued to play Club Lacrosse in Utah and then California, and she spent several years coaching: first for Park City (Utah) High School’s varsity girls’ lacrosse team, and more recently for the University of California at Santa Cruz women’s lacrosse team – helping to bring both teams to podium finishes in their league championships. A former sponsored professional mountain bike racer and competitive skier, Lisa heads out to mountain trails with the office law-dogs, Fischer and Sophie, whenever possible.
