Mr. Hanks was extremely helpful in assisting my husband and I in our estate planning. He prepared wills, medical directives and a trust for our family. He was knowledgeable and professional and we were thrilled with his work. I feel safer knowing that our estate is in order for our children.
When my grandfather passed away, we needed help with a probate issue. We came to Mr. Hanks and he was able to help us file the appropriate documents to get my grandfather's estate out of probate. He helped us quickly and efficiently. We were so grateful for his kindness and expertise at that difficult time.
The most impressive thing about Mr. Peterson is how he makes you feel like your case is the only one he cares about. He is always so busy but took the time every time to answer my questions. He is an outstanding attorney.
Hanks & Mortensen was an excellent law firm to work with in my divorce/child custody matter. Paul Mortensen provided the advice that I needed to get through the case. All of the work they performed was both timely and professional. The firm helped from the first days of my case and continue to help to this day. They were instrumental in having the court order my children be bought back to Utah and insured that I was awarded joint custody, where my children cannot be removed from the state.

The knowledge of the law firm on family court was superior to many of the law firms around I had been fighting a really nasty case for years, and had spent thousands of dollars in a battle that was ridiculous. This law firm was able to get to the laws that were able to end the disputes and end the conflict and save me thousands of dollars in the future. I owe them a lot. I would highly recommend them to help resolve hard issues, and get answers for hard questions.
Rob Ultimately was too busy with his personal life to invest in my case at all. I lost my custody case even though I am a competent, loving and stable mother in Utah because Rob did not provide the commissioner with any evidence. He invested no time in my case and came to court so unprepared his computer wasn't even charged and he winged it with a generic argument.m and nothing case specific, that Ultimately lost me my rights to my son (primary custody) because I could never recover from that hearing that gave my ex rights and became the new status quo despite the custody evaluator finding me completely capable and nurturing as a parent. I would never recommend Rob to anyone. He took my money without any effort to win my case. And at one point told me my ex isn't that bad compared to a drug addict so is it really worth fighting for a little more time with my son?... i regret ever hiring him. Biggest mistake I could have made!
Working with Robert W. Peterson was the worst experience I have ever had. One star is still too much.
Lazy, incompetent, crooks.
You do all of the work and they cash in on it.
We lost $60,000 because the attorney was unprepared, late on filing, and then ask for attorney fees without submitting a bill to the judge.
Needless to say the judge was pretty disgusted as are we, the most service we received was lies and promises.
Do not hire this firm.
