Hired Law Firm

I hired Valerie Murphy for a divorce. At first everything was good until she talked to opposing council. Then right away she wanted me to let the opposing council amend there original petition because they said the date was wrong. I've dealt with the opposing counsel and know they lie. So I refused the amendment. She said they just want to change the date and if I didn't ok it they would ask the court and it would be granted and I would have to pay there legal fees. I refused. She sent several emails saying the same. I still refused it seemed like that was all she cared about. I told them to stop all work on my case for now. I found another attorney and sent a substitution of attorney. she then said they didn't need my approval so she granted them the amendment as we discussed on the phone. A lie. Back dated it a week earlier when we talked..It's obvious she took money from the opposing side. Everything I read and heard about her is a lie she don't care about her clients just money.

Hired Law Firm

Heather Cullen doesn't do the work, not in this case. She gave it to Valerie Murphy, another lawyer in her office who is completely incompetent. She was clearly intimidated by the opposing counsel, she was shaking when trying to ask questions, it was a joke. She dropped the ball and probably cost me tens of thousands of dollars. I also feel like I was overbilled, but that has not been investigated fully yet. Overall a horrible experience. I can't say how much I do NOT recommend this law firm.

I paid the law firm Cullen & Murphy nearly $40,000 to represent my daughter, a single mother of a two-year-old, in a dispute she was having with the child’s father over child custody/support. I am beyond disappointed in the representation that they provided my daughter. In my view Cullen & Murphy is good only at one thing: milking its clients. Instead of seeking the court’s assistance in having my daughter and the child’s father reach an agreement on their issues through court-ordered mediation they aggressively billed me for work that turned out to be essentially useless. What’s more, it was very difficult to communicate with the firm’s attorneys who were supposedly representing my daughter. Instead of providing helpful guidance to my daughter, the firm seemed only concerned with running up their bill as fast and as high as they could.

Hired Law Firm

My father hired this firm for a divorce. It has been 2+ years and no results on behalf of the law firm. Throughout the divorce I heard from my father and my mothers council. Their main complaint was that this law firm never returned phone calls from their clients or opposing council. Finally my father dropped the divorce. However the law firm has been holding funds in excess of $70K. They issued a check made payable to both of my parents that is not able to be cashed. This occurred 7/1/22. We have been trying to reach someone now for this entire period about having this check redrawn and corrected. No response ever. No return phone calls or emails. We are now exasperated and will write derogatory reviews everywhere we can while also filing a complaint with the California Bar Association. Stay clear of hiring this firm.
