About Richard J. Suzuki

Richard J. Suzuki, the founding attorney at Suzuki Law Offices, L.L.C., is licensed to practice law in the state of Arizona and the United States District Court. Prior to opening his own law firm, Mr. Suzuki was selected to serve as a law clerk for the Honorable Howard Fell of the Arizona Superior Court in Pima County shortly after graduating from the University of Arizona College of Law. Next, he went to work as a criminal prosecutor for the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office.

Over the next three years, he investigated and litigated felony matters as a part of the Major Crimes Gang and Repeat Offender Program Bureau. After leaving the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office, Mr. Suzuki accepted a position as the Assistant United States Attorney for the District of Arizona. While there, he was responsible for handling numerous federal felony and misdemeanor cases throughout Tucson and Phoenix, Arizona. This experience now lends itself to his criminal defense practice.

Mr. Suzuki is a member of the State Bar of Arizona and formerly served as the Trustee on the Maricopa County Bar Foundation. As a fluent Spanish speaker, he is also a member of Los Abogados and the Arizona Hispanic Bar Association. Primarily focused on criminal defense in city, state and federal courts, as well as personal injury law, Mr. Suzuki provides aggressive and professional representation for clients facing a wide range of legal matters. Richard is licensed to practice in all Arizona state courts, the United States District Court District of Arizona, and the United States Court of Appeals 9th Circuit. My son ended up in the wrong place at the wrong time. Had just returned from the Marines and got charged with felony offenses involving a gun. He has PTSD. He was looking at 7-21 years and I was worried sick. As a mom, I trusted Richard completely, I knew I could after my first meeting with he and his staff. They all worked very hard fighting for my son and their hard work resulted in a probation only sentence. We were blessed to have Richard represent us and are eternally thankful.

Talked to a few lawyers prior who didn’t seem to care and didn’t sound confident enough. Was facing 2 counts drug sales, possession of drug paraphernalia and mandatory prison time. I was a mess emotionally and spiritually. The second Richard spoke to me, I knew he was the right one. He was very confident and kept reassuring me don’t worry, everything would be alright; he would work hard and do everything possible; he did! To me, he's more than a lawyer, he's my lifesaver! While my son was at ASU, he made a 1 mistake and got felony charges. I was relocating from the East. Hired Richard after my son got serious gun/drug charges while on probation. I was very distraught, I didn’t want to see my 24 year old son go to prison for 11 years. Richard and his staff were very thorough and fought aggressively. Their expertise and hard work resulted in 1 year county jail, no prison! Elated! Very impressed with the compassionate way we were treated. Richard’s past prosecutor experience made the difference in the outcome. Can’t say enough about this wonderful firm!
