Joelle T. Shanesy, Esquire, is the founder and lead attorney of Shanesy Law, where she focuses on family law and estate planning. She assists clients with divorce, custody, child and spousal support, alimony, adoption, and protection from abuse. Joelle also provides estate planning services, including drafting wills, trusts, and powers of attorney. Her dedication to excellence earned her recognition as one of the Top 10 Under 40 by the National Academy of Family Law Attorneys in 2022.
Joelle graduated at the top of her class from Duquesne University School of Law and earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, summa cum laude, from West Virginia University, with a minor in Political Science. Before founding Shanesy Law, she gained extensive experience at a prominent Philadelphia firm and a large regional law firm, focusing on family law and estate planning. During law school, she served as a judicial intern for the Honorable Judith Olson of the Pennsylvania Superior Court. Joelle is an active member of the Philadelphia Bar Association Family Law Section, the Nicholas Cipriani American Inn of Court, and other professional organizations. She has also been recognized as a Super Lawyers Rising Star from 2021 to 2025.
