How would I know if I’m really at fault in an accident?

Answered by attorney Mark Richard West (Unclaimed Profile)
Personal Injury lawyer at Mark West
Chances are since you were pulling out of a spot and the other person was already in the driving lane, you would be found at fault, the reasoning would be you pulled out in an unsafe manner, while that other vehicle was too close.

How much would my personal injury case be worth?

default-avatar
Answered by attorney Derek L. Hall (Unclaimed Profile)
Personal Injury lawyer at Derek L. Hall, PLLC
There are many more factors in considering total damages in a case than simply adding up medical bills. You must consider cost of any future surgery, pain and suffering, loss of any earnings past and future, any permanent disability resulting from the accident, property damage. If you have required assistance to attend to your medical care, any modifications to home, car, etc. I'd advise you to consult with an attorney as soon as possible. There may also be an issue regarding how much you can recover based on available insurance from the defendant. There may also be other issues that are being overlooked. Personal injury attorneys deal with these issues on a daily basis and are well equipped to analyze every possible angle to aid in recovering money you are entitled to from the various sources you'd be entitled to recover from.

Can I sue my dad for sexually abusing me as a child?

Richard B. Jacobson
Answered by attorney Richard B. Jacobson (Unclaimed Profile)
Personal Injury lawyer at Richard B. Jacobson Associates, LLC
There is a fairly long statute of limitations for sexual abuse, and it has changed several times in the past few years. The latest I know is that the lawsuit must be brought before the victim's 35th birthday. So you should consult a lawyer very soon. Among other considerations: do your parents have enough money to pay a serious judgment? After all, you could get a judgment against them and it would be meaningless if they have no, or few, non-exempt assets. Also, proving that their wrong-doing was the direct, proximate, natural cause of your suffering will require at least one expert psychiatric witness.
