Can I sue if a doctor failed to take my visit to the ER seriously & it left me with a permanent scar?

If the medical personnel committed malpractice that left you with disfigurement, then yes, you can sue for the damages. There are some preliminary steps you must take before filing suit, and you probably want at least one doctor to give an opinion whether it was malpractice so that you will know whether you have a good case. You should take all the relevant documents to a local attorney who specializes in medical malpractice and see what he or she says about your case. Be sure to ask about what kind of relief you can get and what the attorney will charge. It's all right to seek a second opinion and a third, if you want. You might also want to find out if the disfigurement to your nose can be corrected with plastic surgery, and what that would cost. This response is based on very limited information and cannot be considered specific legal advice. No attorney-client relationship is created or intended. You should have a full consultation with a competent attorney to get a complete answer. Hope this helps. Good luck and I hope the disfigurement can be repaired.

How should I move forward with receiving income after a car accident?

Appeal the no-fault denial and apply for unemployment insurance. No "double-dipping", though: if one of them is approved you either have to drop the other or send the money back. If you are asked, either in person or on a form, if you are entitled to or applying for any other source of income replacement, tell the truth. Oh, and look for a new job, too.

There are supposed to be protections in place, especially as far as children are concerned, though it can be possible for rules to be broken and for people getting away from things they shouldn't. I'd have to see the paperwork to advise you properly. Find an experienced lawyer in your area who handles these types of questions; maybe your local bar association has a referral service. It will be worth the cost of an office consultation for you to get the advice you need.
