Turn it all into your insurance company. They will hire an attorney to defend you, your friend, or whoever is being sued (I can't tell from your question.).

Can I still sue for an accident that happened two years ago?

Answered by attorney J. Todd Tenge
Personal Injury lawyer at Tenge Law Firm, LLC
If the accident occurred in Colorado, you have 3 years in which to file your claim. If you don't do so within three years, you will lose your rights completely. You will need to hire a qualified, experienced personal injury lawyer. If handled properly, you should be able to recover compensation for all your injuries, damages and losses. This will include compensation for property damage (your wrecked Jag), pain and suffering, lost wages or income (past and future), medical/hospital/surgical bills (both past and future) and any permanent impairment/disfigurement. But, you should retain counsel now and not wait.

Should I look for another attorney if 17 months later there's still nothing?

Answered by attorney Steven A. Schwartz
Personal Injury lawyer at Joel H. Schwartz, P.C.
Sounds like communication has been lacking with your attorney. You should not be okay with this. Your attorney should be readily able to give you a status of your case. I suggest you make an appointment with him and get the answers you seek. If you are still not satisfied, you are certainly free to obtain a second opinion from another law firm.
