How can I sue my previous employer for slander and defamation of character?

Answered by attorney Randie K Black (Unclaimed Profile)
Personal Injury lawyer at Black Law Offixes PC
Slander is verbal defamation and it's almost dead in Michigan since the Ireland v Ireland case a few years ago anyway. I would say -forget that angle completely, get your personnel file and clean it up (which you can get/ Bullard-Plawecki Employee Right to know Act , get it removed or dispute it-read this act on line on how to do it), check the Employer's policy on referrals (ie most are just neutral verifications and if not, try to negotiate it or get an attorney to do it),see if you can collect UIA and get a new job or better yet-go back to work and work with them. Maybe they can do something for you (clean up your file and/or some restitution& I'm assuming that you are not a Union Employee-or they should be doing this for you). It's a lot easier than trying to get a new job. Good Luck to you.

I want to withdraw from an accident case. Do I need to pay anything to lawyer?

Did your lawyer do any work for you? if so, you probably owe some money unless he dropped the ball in some way.

I had an auto accident and received a judgment and now my license is suspended how do I get them back?

Pay the judgment or work out a payment plan that satisfies the judgment creditor. I know it is old fashioned but in the old days we paid for what we broke.
