There is a legal theory in Washington, and most other states, entitled "Negligent Entrustment" which may apply to your situation. "A person entrusting a vehicle to another may be liable under a theory of negligent entrustment only if that person knew, or should have known in the exercise of ordinary care, that the person to whom the vehicle was entrusted is reckless, heedless, or incompetent."

You should contact a local personal injury attorney to discuss the facts of your case in more detail to see whether you can seek damages from any third party, including potentially on a insurance policy on the home.

Can I sue a law firm who I hired November 2011 because in May 2013 they sent me a letter saying they don't have the resources to continue my case?
