What can I do about my spine injury that happened at an apartment complex?

Answered by attorney Steven Fairlie
Personal Injury lawyer at Fairlie & Lippy, P.C.
You can file a claim against the apartment complex. Was it their fault that you slipped? Were they negligent?

What are the compensation benefits if I am injured at work?

David F. Stoddard
Answered by attorney David F. Stoddard (Unclaimed Profile)
Personal Injury lawyer at The David F. Stoddard Law Firm
You are entitled to have medical bills paid (this is probably already being done), 2/3 of your average weekly wage paid while the doctor keeps you out of work (you are probably receiving this, and a settlement for your permanent impairment based on a disability rating (to be negotiated based on how the injury affects your ability to work), the body part injured, and your average weekly wage. Attorneys help with all of this, but only charge a 25% fee based on what they can help you obtain for permanent impairment. If you have already been assigned an impairment rating by the doctor, a lawyer can only charge 25% of what you recover above what you are entitled to based on the impairment rating.

Can I cut my neighbor's tree limb that hangs dangerously over my property?

default-avatar
Answered by attorney Gregory M Janks (Unclaimed Profile)
Personal Injury lawyer at Gregory M. Janks, P.C.
Tree owners are generally responsible for making sure their trees do not create a hazard or nuisance. It would seem that you would want to alert your neighbor to the problem and ask that they take remedial action. If they do not, you may want to see what your local governmental agency says about the situation as they may have a statute or ordinance on point that they will enforce regarding any hazard/nuisance. If you get no relief from "following channels", then it is my understanding that you can remove any part of the tree that is over the property line and on to your property - however, you may not go on your neighbors property and it is likely that you can not take any action that would kill the tree. Should you trespass on your neighbors property and damage their tree you could be subject to treble (triple) damages.
