Can I refuse to answer and send my defendants a letter stating that I object to the discovery request due to inappropriate timing?

B. Casey Yim
Answered by attorney B. Casey Yim (Unclaimed Profile)
Personal Injury lawyer at Murchison & Cumming, LLP
You need to contact a civrts atty. Deft can send you intgs and Request for adm. You have to answer or risk "deemed admissions". Time is not a valid basis to refuse. The intgs and Request for adms are filled with land mines which could blow your case if you give wrong answers. That's why you need a civrts atty to show you the road map for correct responses. Good luck.

How much should I settle if a doctor caused diabetes because he did not oversee proper used of a medication?

Has there been a lawsuit filed yet? If not, then you are jumping the gun. If so, then ask your lawyer. In my neck of the woods, medical malpractice cases just don't settle. Ever.

Could I legally pursue a second opinion on my case?

Answered by attorney Dara J. Goldsmith
Personal Injury lawyer at Goldsmith & Guymon, P.C.
If you have no fee agreement then there is nothing that sets forth what your relationship is. If you orally directed him to take action he could rely upon that in many circumstances. You can always seek a second opinion. You should also ask that attorney to review all correspondence from Attorney No. 1 and help you determine the status of that relationship as well as your obligations. From your email it is unclear if you are receiving bills, etc. This is opinion is solely based upon the facts presented in the inquiry. Additional facts may be important and may change the analysis. If you are uncertain, seek legal counsel. We are not your attorneys. This answer is being offered to assist you in determining if you need to retain legal counsel to assist you, not to resolve your issue through an email inquiry.
