Can an attorney take a settlement without the clients consent?

Answered by attorney Steven A. Schwartz
Personal Injury lawyer at Joel H. Schwartz, P.C.
You are the boss. You do not have to accept a settlement if you are not happy with it. However, one typically hires an attorney to obtain maximum compensation.

Can I sue a police officer for ignoring a request for medical attention which has caused complications?

Answered by attorney Steven Alan Fink (Unclaimed Profile)
Personal Injury lawyer at Fink & Abraham LLP
Very difficult lawsuit to win. You have to show that had he complied with the request immediately that someone would have been there to help within a specific length of time and could have prevented what happened had they been there. Also have to show he deliberately ignored request without a good reason. Not a case many attorneys would want to take.

In Florida, the statute of limitations is 4 years, so you've got 4 years within which to file suit. Fire the lawyer and hire another one; you can do that.
