Does my husband's name go on the settlement check?

Answered by attorney David W. Hibbert (Unclaimed Profile)
Personal Injury lawyer at Law Offices of David W. Hibbert
Many insurance companies will ask that your husband's name be on the settlement check . This is because a spouse has a separate claim for injury to their wife or husband. If that was not taken into consideration when the amount was agreed upon , then you should either renegotiate for that loss of consortium claim , or explain that you only settled your claim and not your husband's claim. The insurance company is trying to get something for nothing when they add a separate claim to the mix. If your husband did not hire your lawyer for his claim, then your lawyer should not be allowing the insurance company to place his name on the settlement check.

No, what you consider "pressure" is what they would describe as "encouragement". After that, you decided to quit. They gave you good reason to want to quit, but it was your decision to do so.

Am I violating my unsupervised probation if the alcohol evaluation was not yet completed?

Why don't you talk to your probation officer. You are in default of course but the PO is the one who reports you back to court.
