My experience with Magistrate Michelle Inere was extremely difficult, and I left the process feeling unheard and unsupported. Although her report stated that she reviewed all of the documentation I submitted, the repeated comments about the amount of evidence I provided made me feel belittled and dismissed. Because of this, it did not feel to me as though the full context of my situation — or the seriousness of my concerns — were truly acknowledged. At the time of the hearing, my ex-husband had an open DVI case involving both myself and my child. Despite this, family counseling was ordered. From my perspective, this did not reflect the level of caution or protection I had hoped for, especially given the nature of the ongoing case. Now, three years later, my son is experiencing what I believe to be emotional abuse during his time with his father. This has been extremely painful for me as a mother. I wish I would have requested the Judge.
