I paid Wendy Mara, Esq, $2750 for Asset Protection Planning. She recommended we use "Spousal Refusal" to qualify for Medicaid overage. All other states have sued applicants for using this strategy. She said we could use a Qualified Income Trust (QUI) to hide excess income and assets, but Medicaid later recovers the benefits it paid. I made sure my report was accurate, but her summary was riddled with mistakes in heirs, income, and assets. She refused to refund our money when I pointed out her mistakes. Not only did she waste my time, but she insulted me by addressing my spouse, rather than the decision-maker.

We reached out to the client as she never paid us $2750 for Asset Protection Planning. When she realized she was mistaken, she told us she would update the review. Unfortunately, she has failed to do so.
