smart man
I got my divorce papers in October of 2003. I found out in January of 2004, when I contacted Mr. Saglimben about something that my divorce had been overturned. He did not contact me about it. I found out from the court that my lawyer put it through as a default divorce even though my ex husband's attorney had contacted him after all. I never even got one penny of my retainer fee back, but I did have to go find another attorney. The man shouldn't be allowed to practice law.
Paid $3000 for a retainer to just get some simple modifications to my court order and possibly go to court for my child custody. I hired Mike Saglimben and although he seems to be a decent person; however, professionally I could not recommend him for Family Law matters. I've only had to need to see him twice and both times not only is it hard to get a hold of anyone in the office, but I have had my calls go to voicemail only to then go to the office where they were in fact working. Office disheveled, Mr. Saglimben wearing gym clothes, and seemed all over the place. I understand that lawyers' office can get busy, but this doesn't build confidence or trust. He assured me he would get back to me and even though I've seen him in person multiple times. Crickets. I've asked for my retainer to be refunded and of course it went to voicemail and I'm still waiting. In total, I'll be looking for a new lawyer and would not recommend this firm. I cannot speak for Mr. Carr.
My friend had a court case back in October and Mike still has not signed the court order. Now, my case could now get thrown out because of the lack of performance as lawyer. He has called, left messages and nothing. Also after my friends court case, he had questions. He scheduled a conference call. He called at the time he was suppose to and was told, "Mike had stepped outside a half an hour ago." So, my friend was told to call back in 20 mins. He did, then was told that he had to call back in another 10-15mins. He called back like he was told and then they said that he will call him back. He is still waiting for the call back. I wonder what the American Bar Association would think? My friend started with Carr and then was given to Saglimben due to Carr not able to handle the type of case my friend is going to court for. He has had these lawyers for 2 months now. He submitted all his evidence and has called in the past 2 months numerous times to ask questions with no calls back.
