I contacted Anna Street regarding a housing issue where an apartment complex was charging me for fees not listed on the lease. With Anna’s help. I won. I felt I could not move in to the building. Anna helped me get out of the lease! Knowledgeable, upfront about what might happen, very professional. Fast responses! Thank you!
DV SURVIVORS BEWARE. I'm writing to caution domestic abuse and violence survivors against working with Attorney Susan Lach. When I picked her as a parenting consultant I spent some time briefing her about the sensitivity of the situation. While I have only had to bring her into an issue twice in over a year, the second time she sent the most tone deaf, insulting, and triggering email that it left me reeling. I complained and sent her links to several online courses run by non-profits that teach how to speak to survivors of DV. I also demanded an apology (obviously, not yet forthcoming). Instead of doing any of the above she charged me $80 for my complaint. That's right, her firm thought that it was ethically acceptable to charge someone for complaining about their service. I question their ethics and professionalism and would warn other women away from working with Ms. Lach.
James Street does not operate in accordance with due process. He operates subjectively and with extreme bias. Data and facts are disregarded for emotion and personal feelings. Untimely responses, fraudulent billing practices. Predatory services that prioritizes profit over children. He makes decisions with incomplete and inaccurate data. When mistakes are pointed out he dodges all accountability. Stay away if you want honorable "neutral".
Please, I’m begging of any DV or abuse survivors do NOT hire Ms. Lach as a parenting consultant. She is rude and unprofessional, and will accidentally “reply all” to emails telling her staff to ignore you. She doesn’t know how to speak to DV survivors. Bills unethically and overcharges. She shouldn’t be practicing law, let alone where vulnerable populations are concerned. No ethics. No integrity. If I could give this firm less than 1 star, as would... I had the extreme displeasure of having Susan Lach as a parenting consultant for 2 years. Susan and her staff showed me a lack of respect and professionalism from the moment the contract was signed, while she coddled and showed clear favoritism toward my ex-husband. This favoritism turned abusive and traumatic and included Susan forcing me to under go a very expensive and unnecessary psychological evaluation (but never explained to what end she wanted that evaluation done, nor did she order my ex have one as well, even though 2 therapists involved in my case told her she needed to order one for him) She routinely refused to speak with me individually, but would have private conversations with my ex, which I was then expected to pay half of. At one point, my lawyer intercepted and forwarded on to me some of the least professional emails I've ever seen in my life, that included language that was degrading and disparaging me.
