Mark Makoto Higuchi is a lawyer practicing business litigation, shareholder disputes, contract disputes and 19 other areas of law. Mark has been licensed for 20 years. Mark practices at Brown & Charbonneau, LLP in Irvine, CA.
The firm that Mark works for - Brown & Charbonneau, LLP - was hired to represent me against a real estate developer whose project I invested in. Since the investment was rather small, I shared upfront that I would like to keep legal fees to a minimum, and merely want a couple of scare-letters for the purpose of receiving access to information that had been withheld from me. Mark wrote those two letters and hadn't achieved anything. When I asked about next steps, it took him 5 days to give half a response, then another 5 days to give another have a response, and then for 6 days he couldn't respond to a simple question about projected costs. In general, Mark always took good few days to respond (not acceptable in my opinion), he never demonstrated creativity or proactiveness, and his writing was mediocre. $4,000 in, I realized I wasn't going to get anything out of this engagement except being treated like a small fish, and decided to cut my losses and fire the firm.
