If you have a US passport, that document would be good enough for you to petition for your family members. If not, you would have to apply for a replacement certificate on form I-565 application to replace naturalization/citizenship certificate. If your husband is eligible to apply for lawful permanent resident status, he will need to file a motion with the immigration judge to reopen his case to allow him to apply for adjustment of status.

Does the new immigration law affect my husband?

Answered by attorney Kevin L. Dixler
Immigration lawyer at Law Office of Kevin L. Dixler
There is no new law. The Obama administration simply helps those without an order. To discuss the risks of a motion to re-open, schedule an appointment. Otherwise, your husband has a final deportation order and to do anything may result in his detention and removal.
