Your employer can file labor certification(PERM) as the first step for green card before or after it files for the h1B application. They are not related. If your employer files H1B before your OPT expires, you can continue working until October 1, 2013 when the h1b kicks in.

You will remain in F-1 status until your I-485 is approved. You should also be receiving a new EAD card based on your pending I-485. A new I-765 should have been filed with the I-485 as it was included in the fee you paid. You can continue to work on that new EAD once you receive it. You should schedule an appointment with an experience immigration practitioner if you wish to learn more about the specific time frames.

You have no legal status by virtue of marrying your girlfriend. Once married she has to file an petition for you, and once she is a U.S. Citizen you have to apply for a Green Card. If your girlfriend becomes a U.S. Citizen you can remain in the U.S. after your B2 status expires and apply for your Green Card in the U.S.. If she does not become a U.S. Citizen, then you will have to depart the U.S.
