How long do I have to wait before I can help my second husband get his papers?

Answered by attorney Lynne Rogers Feldman
Immigration lawyer at Feldman Feldman Associates, PC
The two cases are unrelated as long as both were bona fide relationships and not for immigration purposes. You and your boyfriend should get a consultation though to review his complete immigration history, method of entering the U.S., other qualifying relatives, and criminal record, any returns to the home country, etc. to assess what the process will be to obtain his permanent residency through your marriage and whether he will be able to file here or will need to return home and apply for a waiver or whether neither option is open to him.

How do I get my husband legalized if he entered the U.S. illegally, twelve years ago?

Answered by attorney Francis John Cowhig (Unclaimed Profile)
Immigration lawyer at Francis John Cowhig
Your question requires an attorney consultation. It is not a simple question that can be answered on this type of forum. There are many factors that would need to be considered and evaluated. Since you are receiving government benefits, you may not qualify financially for the Affidavit of Support and will need a co-sponsor for your husband. Your husband may also need a waiver for his illegal entry and overstay and may have to go back to his country for consular processing.

What can I do if my school terminated by mistake?

Answered by attorney Phong Thanh Tran (Unclaimed Profile)
Immigration lawyer at Law Office of Pho Ethan Tran, PLLC
Ask the DSO to correct the mistake, if possible. Otherwise, you will need to get a written statement from the DSO explaining what happened and apply for reinstatement of your F-1 status on form I-539.
