I am a U.S Citizen, How long it would take me to get my Wife here? she’s an Egyptian

Answered by attorney Stephen Arnold Black
Immigration lawyer at The Law Office of Stephen A. Black
Is she in Egypt or here? If she is here she could adjust status but if she’s overseas then she can process at the consulate after marriage or she could obtain a fiancé visa and enter the country and get married here within 90 days after entry. Discuss with counsel. Counsel anywhere in the USA can assist you.

I want apply for permanent legal status for my wife or a green card. what is the process and fee please ?

Answered by attorney Doreen A. Emenike
Immigration lawyer at Law Offices of Doreen A Emenike
Hello, If you are a U.S. citizen and your wife entered the U.S. lawfully, you would be able to apply for her legal permanent resident status. The process should take less than a year and she will be given a conditional resident status if you have been married for less than 2 years at the time her application is approved. This conditional resident status is good for two years, and at least 3 months before its expiration, you will need to apply for her permanent green card. It is important to speak to an experienced immigration lawyer in your local city, show them proof of her legal entry, and discuss her immigration and criminal history, if any, as these may affect her application. Good Luck.   Disclaimer: This information is of a general nature and is not, nor is it intended to be legal advice. What do I do if I have an expired passport and visa?

Answered by attorney Eric M. Mark
Immigration lawyer at The Law Office of Eric M. Mark
How did you enter the U.S.? Are you married? Will you be getting married? Have you ever been married? Have you ever been the victim of a crime or domestic violence? There are many questions that need to be answered to see if you have any options available now, in the near future, or in the distant future. Call for a consultation and we'll figure it out.
