Visa, or Permit to work in the US

Answered by attorney David Troy Cox
Immigration lawyer at CoxEsq, PC
The only way you can do it is file an I-130 petition for your brother and once it is approved, he'll have to wait for a visa number to become available.  Several employment-based visas may allow him to travel to the US while he waits for this process.  For example, if he has a bachelor's degree or higher, he may be eligible for an H1B specialty occupation visa.

Is my green card not valid anymore after it was revoked?

Answered by attorney Francis John Cowhig (Unclaimed Profile)
Immigration lawyer at Francis John Cowhig
If your green card was revoked, you are out of status and basically here illegally and probably accruing unlawful presence time in the U.S. If you go back to your home country, you will most likely not be allowed to entered the U.S. without a visa.

Is it faster to get married in the US or Canada for a spouse visa?

Christine Victoria Troy
Answered by attorney Christine Victoria Troy (Unclaimed Profile)
Immigration lawyer at The Law Office of Christine Troy
As a general matter, obtaining a fiancee visa is normally a bit quicker than applying for an immigrant visa. I strongly encourage you to have a full consult with a competent immigration attorney so you fully understand the differences. I do these and it would take at least an hour to explain it fully! In the long run, obtaining an immigrant visa will mean that later in the process, you have one less step to pay for and to prepare, so often it makes more sense to just accept that your entry will be delayed a few months and go with that route!
