Answered by attorney Steven Joseph Kalishman (Unclaimed Profile)
Immigration lawyer at Steven Kalishman, P.A. Law Offices
She cannot extend a tourist visa if she is married. But if she marries 60 days after entering the US, she will be considered lawfully present while her application is being processed.

Can a judgement of indefinite deportation on a minor drug distribution conviction be reversed after a certain period? If so, what is the process?

Answered by attorney Alan Lee
Immigration lawyer at Alan Lee Arthur Lee, Attorneys at Law
It would appear that the person of whom you speak was convicted of an aggravated felony – distribution of drugs. The immigration laws do not allow a waiver in this situation. It would also appear in his situation that his only relief would be through obtaining a governor’s pardon for the offenses.Due to the limitations of the Lawyers.com Forums, Alan Lee, Esq.'s (the "Firm") participation in responding to questions posted herein does not constitute legal advice, nor legal representation of the person or entity posting a question. My dad is an Naturalized American Citizen. Do I automatically become a citizen too?

Mark J. Curley
Answered by attorney Mark J. Curley (Unclaimed Profile)
Immigration lawyer at Curley Immigration Law, PC LLO
Congratulations!  You will become a U.S. citizen automatically when you enter the U.S. as a lawful permanent resident while under the age of 18 years.  Since your father was not a U.S. citizen when you were born, you did not automatically become a U.S. citizen at birth.  If you had been present in the U.S. as a permanent resident when your father naturalized, you would have become a U.S. citizen on that day.  So, you will need to enter the U.S. with your green card before you can become a U.S. citizen.  After you enter, you can either apply for a U.S. passport or a Certificate of Citizenship to prove your citizenship.
