Is it possible for a green card holder to rent a house without proof of income/job?

Answered by attorney John F Brennan (Unclaimed Profile)
Immigration lawyer at Musilli Brennan Associates, PLLC
I would suspect that the green card holder would be able to rent a house as long as she satisfies the landlord that she is able and will pay the rent.

Am I eligible to file my naturalisation under the 3 years of marriage?

Answered by attorney Michael Alexander Yurasov-Lichtenberg (Unclaimed Profile)
Immigration lawyer at Havens Lichtenberg PLLC
The eligibility for naturalization is counted from the date your green card was issued, not from the date of your marriage. A naturalization application can be filed 90 days before you accumulate the required permanent continuous residence in the U.S. In your case, you can file Form N-400 in October 2015 if you will still be married and living together with your U.S. citizen wife if not - in October 2017.

What can I do to get a green card for my husband if he was only 9 months old when he was brought here illegally?

Justin Wang
Answered by attorney Justin Wang (Unclaimed Profile)
Immigration lawyer at Sheppard Mullin
Unless he is 245i protected, he cannot adjust status in the US. I suggest you file I-130 and I-601A waiver. If the waiver is approved, he can return to his home country to receive immigrant visa if I-130 is also approved. Alternatively, he can file DACA to receive employment authorization and to keep his status in the US. If the relevant immigration law changes, he may be able to adjust status in the US without leaving the US. Your case is not a simple one so please consult immigration lawyer for help.
