I was caught shoplifting items worth 175 $ (4 year ago), the cops were called, they arrested me , and had me finger printed and photographed at the st

You should be able to travel in and out of the U. S. on your green card as the offense of shoplifting would not appear to be one in which you could have been sentenced over one year or in which you served jail time for over 6 months. You can check the statute under which you were charged to determine the top amount of time that you could have received for the shoplifting offense. Can my girlfriend who's a UK citizen legally stay in the US after our wedding? Or does she have to leave while her green card is being processed?

That should be fine. You can always file after the 60 day grace period. There is no penalty for the overstay. And she can remain in the US during the process. If done right, she can get a green card in about 3 months.

I am a U.S citizen with two children also usa i am currently petiontiong for my husband so he can become a resident does me having medicaid affect him

Answered by attorney Stephen Arnold Black

no..but the issue that will affect you is that the sponsor (you) who petitions for the foreign national (your husband) must complete a financial affidavit that shows that you have sufficent income to meet the guidelines for a family of 4. If you dont have sufficent income, then you have to find a joint sponsor who does have sufficent income to meet the guidelines for a family of 4.
