How do I become a legal resident?

Christine Victoria Troy

You need to make an appointment with a competent immigration attorney who can look at all of the paperwork for your family's case and at yours. This attorney can then determine the status of your case and how to proceed.

Can I apply for a visa for my husband while on medicaid?

Answered by attorney Lynne Rogers Feldman
Immigration lawyer at Feldman Feldman Associates, PC
The K-3 is not recommended. I would not incur the expense and just file an I-130. Any public aid benefits for you or your child are fine but you still need to show your spouse will not be a public charge if he comes here so you will likely need a co-sponsor.

As long as your F-1 student status is still valid, you are permitted to travel and return to the US on the basis of your student visa.
