Since I don't have a US Passport, and considering I only have H4 visa, is it possible to travel to Japan and go back without any troubles?

The entry requirements for Japan can be checked with Japanese consulate. As for H4: if you have a valid visa, you will be able to get back to the US.

If you wish to remain in the US, you would likely have to file for another extension of your status even though the current application is still pending. Otherwise you may be in the unenviable position of having an approval which does not extend up to the date that you are still staying in the US.Due to the limitations of the Lawyers.com Forums, Alan Lee, Esq.'s (the "Firm") participation in responding to questions posted herein does not constitute legal advice, nor legal representation of the person or entity posting a question. What will the new immigration law change when applying for citizenship?

Answered by attorney David Troy Cox
Immigration lawyer at CoxEsq, PC
The law is still being debated.  It is too early to talk about it.  We have to wait for the full Senate and House to vote.
