Amy is a power house! She came very highly recommended to me by numerous people for being “a bulldog”. Amy won’t waste your time or money. She will tell you exactly what is possible and what’s not and unlike most other lawyers in town, she will not tell you what you want to hear just so she can make money off of you. Divorce is expensive and excruciating and she won’t get your hopes up with impossibilities or drain your money with impracticality. Seeing other friends go through similar things and end up with the same results makes me so grateful for Amy. She was realistic with me so that me and my ex-husband could settle out of court instead of spend months and tens of thousands of dollars ripping each other apart in depositions to get the same result. I still get bullied by my ex and I still use Amy, 4 yrs later. She knows my case. She knows me. And she hardly ever charges me for popping into her inbox with questions. Amy Slayden represented me in my divorce, in two modifications, and most recently in a complicated child support recalculation. We only had to go to court once; Amy won the case, with a generous visitation schedule and reasonable cost sharing. She always gives realistic, clear explanations of the legal issues and of possible courses of action. In my recent case, my ex-spouse is a small business owner, so the recalculation and discovery issues were very complicated. I went though a divorce (unwillingly) after 21 years of marriage. At first I refused to get a lawyer because I was in denial that my wife was serious. When she started demanding things owed to her my co-worker recommended I talk to Amy. She advised me from start to finish and was empathetic of my situation. We came out on top and I am so thankful for her professionalism and advice. I was thinking with my heart, but she was looking out for me and stayed two steps ahead. Great communication!
Working with this lawyer great! She made sure to put my daughter and myself first and explained everything well. I had the privilege of having Ms. Meigs as my supporting counsel in a divorce and custody case recently, and I must say she is dedicated, passionate, and extremely knowledgeable to say the least. It was a really great experience working with this law form. Every time I had questions I would get them answered almost immediately and I did not feel dumb for asking them. They communicated very efficiently through email (my preference due to work schedule). They only charge you for the time that they spend on your case.
