I hired Sara Jacobs and her firm to represent me when I was fired from my job in violation of the FMLA when I was out sick. There was also a viable claim for age and gender discrimination. Instead of urging me to litigate, Ms. Jacobs understood that in my industry one can be blacklisted after bringing any claim. She instead negotiated a severance on my behalf. She and her firm were courteous, professional and responded to my needs immediately. I highly recommend this firm.
She pretended to have the expertise on my case on employment discrimination. However, she solicited help and advice from her cousin who was at the same institution I was suing. This was an enormous conflict of interest, but she didn’t mind. She advised me with the help of her cousin to file an internal Title IX complaint, which was a very big mistake. This caused me a big delay in filing a lawsuit, and my illegibility to have the attorney fees covered by the institution. In addition, when my case got more complex, she couldn’t handle it and quit on me at a critical time. Now I lost everything. Couldn’t get my job back and lost the opportunity to get justice tor my case. That’s how unprofessional and non compassionate Barbara Cowen is as a lawyer.
