Leave a review about your experience with this lawyer.I felt that Mr. Draper was sympathetic for what I was going through and took my call each and every time I had a question. It’s very important when you’re going through a lawsuit, you’re scared and you need the reassurance that you’re in good hands and that’s exactly what we felt with Mr. Draper representing us. Not only was he knowledgeable, efficient but extremely professional.
I retained Mr. Draper and his firm to handle a matter that I was very nervous about. He settled all my worries and although throughout the process kept me up to date and informed about my case. I am very glad I went with his firm and would recommend him to my friends and family, should the need ever arise!
I had an Assault and Battery charge prior to sending in my applications for college. Though skeptical of his pricing at first, I retained Dave Draper, and it was money well spent. From the start he assured me that everything was going to be alright. He walked me through every step, and was always very organized and ready. More importantly he was confident that he could obtain a favorable result-and I got off scott-free. I'd recommend Dave to anyone who is need of a criminal lawyer.
David R. Draper claims to be a 1st amendment lawyer but in practice he does not back it up. He said in his closing argument that my protesting and documenting of a business making noise of over 80 decibels (saying "boycott nestle" at under 65 decibels) was in fact noise. I had a decibel meter with me at all times so I know exactly how loud my speaking was. From what I saw, he was preparing the case while we waiting before trial and had no clue to the facts of my side of things. I had been peacefully protesting and documenting a business that is creating a disturbance but he made it sound like I was just simply upset. This was not the case at all. He missed many elements of the trial. Other lawyers I have since spoke with were perplexed by the choices he made. Even the judge condemned him for not objecting to the way the charges were written. He does not return phone calls. He shows up late for court dates due to going to other clients. He adjourned many times due to scheduling conflicts. He is more concerned about payment which is much higher than other lawyers. The day of the trial he was more concerned about a $400,000 facilitation case than mine. He was not available for my questions or needs. In my humble opinion I made a huge mistake retaining David R. Draper and I would recommend staying far away from this lawyer. I have been waiting for over 2 weeks for an answer to a simple question. He does not even know the time limits for a criminal appeal and gave me wrong information. DO NOT RETAIN DAVID R. DRAPER for your lawyer in Michigan. A $500 max fine disturbing the peace misdemeanor case and he charged me $2500x2=$5000. I was late with my final payment but I did pay in full before trial. Regardless, this should not have affected his performance if that is why he was not prepared. If you don't think 1st amendment free speech is noise then DO NOT RETAIN David R. Draper because he stated on record that he does. Once again, DO NOT RETAIN DAVID R. DRAPER.
