I hired John Whitaker from Avera and Smith to handle a domestic issue in marion county. While I assume John is a good lawyer in Alachua county. Do not waste your time to hire him for a marion county charge. I hired him almost 4 months ago and we could not initially get him to respond after 4 months my anger got the best of me and John and I had heated discussion where he asked me what I wanted him to do. My answer was your damn job. That's all. After this then he decided to do his job. Done a little to late. He charged me almost $7000 I didn't get my moneys worth. Don't waste your time to hire him. He is not worth it. He wanted us to plead out which we refused to do. He seems scared of the States Attorney in Marion county.
