About K Altman Law

Experienced Title IX and Student Defense Attorneys / Serving the US - We Take Tough Cases That Other Firms Avoid

K Altman Law is a full-service law firm offering legal representation to clients throughout the United States. Although the firm handles a variety of legal matters, four primary practice areas constitute the majority of cases at the K Altman Law: student defense, Title IX, civil rights, and criminal defense. We pride ourselves on zealously representing our clients and offering them support and guidance at every stage from intake to case resolution.

We have assembled a team of academics, legal professionals, and advisors with decades of experience to represent students accused of academic misconduct and other student code of conduct violations. Our familiarity with institutions of higher learning enables us to achieve positive outcomes for our clients. Also, we work with K-12 students, undergraduate students, and graduate students who need assistance with their cases.

If you are a party to a Title IX investigation, you have the right to an advisor. Title IX guarantees that respondents have the right to due process. K Altman Law fights for clients accused of Title IX violations.

Respondents are entitled to notice of the allegations against them, the applicable standard of proof, and live hearings, among others rights. Our team of experienced litigators represents students and faculty members accused of violating Title IX.

The United States Constitution and each individual state constitution guarantees specific civil rights for citizens. If you were deprived of your civil rights, you need a zealous advocate who is unafraid to assert your civil rights claims.

K Altman Law offers exceptional legal representation if you are seeking a skilled civil litigation lawyer.

Being convicted of a misdemeanor or a felony can result in the loss of privileges that can affect you economically, socially, and psychologically. If you are seeking a criminal defense lawyer, contact K Altman Law. We have experience handling every phase of a criminal case, from pretrial to appeal. We understand how prosecutors work and negotiate. If a plea bargain cannot be reached, we have the resources and staff necessary for trial.

Hired Law Firm

Stay away from these lawyers, they prey on students in a time crunch. Fortunately I did not lose 10,000 to them because I asked the right questions and probed deeply to know they wouldn’t handle my case well. Don’t be quick to part with consultation fees even. Hire a different lawyee

Hired Law Firm

I had an initial meeting scheduled with Dr. Amanda Stewart, but due to a misunderstanding about the time difference between Michigan and Texas, the call never occurred. I waited during my lunch period in my car, and because of urgent circumstances, we proceeded in reliance on the expectation that guidance would be provided. The scheduling oversight and lack of communication added stress and made it difficult to address our situation effectively. I ended up handling 1. Level Two Appeal 2. Level Three Appeal 3. Filed with TEA 4. Filed Student complaints With no assistance or contact from Dr. Amanda Stewart or K Altman Law Firm.

Hired Law Firm

I paid K Altman Law $16,000 for an expulsion and Title IX attorney. After taking my payment, communication almost completely stopped. I went six weeks with no updates, no guidance, and no response at all. Then on Aug 19, I finally got an email saying the lawyer I hired, Amelia Lafont, was “no longer with the firm” and they were still trying to figure out what happened with my case. I was never notified she left. No replacement attorney. No transition. No plan. No work product. To this day, I have not been refunded the $16,000, even though I did not receive the representation I paid for. I’ve now filed a formal complaint with the Michigan Attorney Grievance Commission and am submitting a claim to the Michigan Client Protection Fund. This whole experience has been extremely upsetting and unprofessional, and I don’t want anyone else to go through this.

Hired Attorney Keith Altman Esq.

This firm took advantage of and stolen UNEARNED FUNDS from a DISABLED VETERAN. Former client here. BUYER BEWARE. I contacted this firm to help me with an issue I had regarding a law school. When I had my first consultation, the Attorney Nicole Camiso, gave me a lot of false hope that she would fight for me and was confident in a positive outcome. While no one can ever guarantee a specific outcome. An Attorney has an absolute duty to fight for and represent their client to the best interest f their abilities. From the very beginning, this firm didn’t want to get involved in contacting the school as my representative. For the first month, I did everything. What is very telling is that this firm specifically advertises that THEY FIGHT AGAINST IVY LEAGUE COLLEGES/UNIVERSITIES yet folded like a lawn chair against a small, private, non-ABA law school. Defeating IVY LEAGUE SCHOOLS? What a joke. Plus, Nicole Camiso FRADULENTLY represented she was a CA lic. Atty when she isn’t. Grievance coming

As emphasized during the client’s original consultation, K Altman Law cannot guarantee any particular result in any matter. In this particular matter, despite the best efforts of K Alman Law the school refused to consider the client’s readmittance.
