Answered by attorney Bernard H. Greenberg

You can consider an agreement. This is like a pre-marital agreement, just a living together agreement. That can cover her interest in the property and many other topics. Visit with an attorney specializing in these types of arrangements for further help.

How do I short sell an inherited house?

Answered by attorney Robert James Slotkin (Unclaimed Profile)
Estate Planning lawyer at Robert J. Slotkin
Don't refinance, otherwise it will affect your credit. Only if you decide to keep the house should you take title and refinance. If you are simply going to short-sell and are willing to waive your rights in the house, the estate lawyer can ask the judge permission to abandon the residence and just give it back to the bank.

Each State has statutes that apply to your acting as the Executor. Check with your State for these details. Additionally, most bar associations have some literature that could be of assistance. The Colorado Bar Association has a booklet about being a Personal Representative.
