Can my siblings force me to sell the house our parents left us that is under my name?

Answered by attorney David Goldman
Estate Planning lawyer at Law Office of David M. Goldman PLLC
It depends on how the house was left to you and what actions you take. You should talk with a lawyer familiar with deeds and ouster to make sure you do not do something that will give them the right to force the sale.

Would my mother's debt and lawsuit be charged on me if I probate her assets?

Answered by attorney Norman Harry Green (Unclaimed Profile)

Her assets are liable for her debt, so if you get them, you are liable for her debt to the extent of the assets you get from her estate.

Can I add a second person to my deed?

Answered by attorney Christine Sabio Socrates (Unclaimed Profile)
Estate Planning lawyer at Christine Sabio Socrates Attorney at Law
If you add a second person to your deed then you are opening up your property to that person's creditors, divorce, etc. If the reason you are adding a person is to avoid probate, then you can do so by a transfer on death affidavit and not have to add this person to your deed.
