Can I set up living trusts in two separate states?

Answered by attorney James P Frederick (Unclaimed Profile)
Estate Planning lawyer at Frederick & Frederick Attorneys at Law
You can, but you may not need to. A trust can hold property in a number of states and or countries. Having two trusts may be more administrative work and costs than you want or need, as well.

How can I put my mother's home in my name now that she has past?

Answered by attorney Steven Solomon Fluhr (Unclaimed Profile)
Estate Planning lawyer at Fluhr & Moore, LLC
Affidavits of heirship can be recorded in Missouri. However, you are mistaken as to ownership. If your dead siblings left children, those children inherit their parents share. You are probably better off filing a petition to determine heirship in probate court and going from there to get home in your name.

Do I have to do what the power of attorney tells me to?

Answered by attorney Mark T. Peters (Unclaimed Profile)
Estate Planning lawyer at Peters Law, PLLC
Tell him to move the money now or take your name off the account. He has the power and he is the one that should be handling the money, not you. You are just waiting for a lawsuit when he says you didn't handle something properly.
